Cefuroxime is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used in the treatment of susceptible infections. These include bone and joint infections, bronchitis (upper and lower respiratory-tract infections), gonorrhea, meningitis, peritonitis, sinusitis, skin infections.
It is also used in surgical prophylaxis.
